Aston Martin Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Aston Martin is a regular mistake to make. And what you want to do about it is based on an assortment of factors. Assuming you would like to find out what to do about it then read on.
These are the key variables to keep in mind whenever figuring out whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Diesel did you put into the Aston Martin, taking into consideration that the fuel tank capacity of your Aston Martin DB7 is usually about 89 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, something like 4.45 litres of Diesel in a Petrol DB7 will usually not be a massive problem. Experience has proven to us that anything under 4.45 litres (close to 5% of the whole fuel tank) is sometimes capable of being sufficiently diluted simply by wholly filling the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It's pretty rare to encounter a car or truck going through issues because of below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is infrequent - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are certain vehicles that won't endure any amount of contamination whatsoever.
    2. In between 4.45 and 8.9 litres of Diesel in the Aston Martin (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our practical experience has shown us that as many motorists get away with it as all those who break down. Whenever deciding upon whether or not to risk it and basically top it up consider that it is very much like betting your car on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 8.9 litres of Diesel in a Petrol DB7 must straightaway be removed because your likelihood of driving with this amount of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in 50 - genuinely big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Aston Martin and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance problems after putting the bad fuel in the DB7? If so, have it emptied regardless of the volume of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Continually running a motor vehicle that is beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination will probably only be responsible for increasing amounts of damage affecting your fuel system components.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
In that case get it drained. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is invariably some extent of danger connected to running a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Likely results of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include the motor not starting, running unevenly, decrease in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so on. These are some of the most common Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and should you detect any of them then stop and get it drained asap.

Steer clear of getting any unqualified so-and-so to try to repair your vehicle. We are Aston Martin specialists and hold the skills and practical experience necessary to make certain you get back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.
