Audi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Audi is a fairly typical mistake to make. And its remedy is based on an assortment of factors. In the event that you would like to know what it is best to do about this then please read on.
Here are the most crucial variables to be aware of when deciding on whether or not to get the car drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put in the Audi, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of your Audi RS3 is in most cases around 60 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, less than 3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol RS3 will in most cases not be a huge problem. Experience has proven to us that anything less than 3 litres (which is close to 5% of the total fuel tank) is often capable of being sufficiently diluted through wholly topping up the tank with the right fuel.
It's extremely unusual to encounter a car or truck having difficulties with lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Be aware that it is infrequent - not impossible to encounter. There are a number of cars that don't stand any quantity of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Anywhere between 3 and 6 litres of Diesel in the Audi (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our experience has shown us that as many people get away with it as all those who break down. Whenever figuring out whether to risk it and basically fill it up bear in mind that it is the same as betting your car on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything more than 6 litres of Diesel in your Petrol RS3 should as soon as possible be drained out because your likelihood of succeeding with this amount of contamination is probably below one in 50 - extremely big odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Audi and drove it: Have you noticed any kind of performance concerns after putting the incorrect fuel in your RS3? In that case, get it emptied irrespective of the quantity of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continually driving a motor vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will probably only cause even more damage being caused to your fuel system.
  3. Do you need assurance?
Then simply just get it emptied. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably some amount of danger connected to running a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Possible consequences of driving a car on the wrong fuel normally include the engine not starting, running unevenly, lack of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and the like. These are some of the commonest Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and if you notice any of them stop and have it drained as soon as possible.
