Audi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Audi is a common error. And what you need to do about it depends upon a few things. In case you would like to know what you need to do to sort it out then please read on.
These are the most crucial factors to take into account when figuring out whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in the Audi, considering that the fuel tank capacity of your Audi S3 is probably roughly 62 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, less than 3.1 litres of Diesel in a Petrol S3 will normally not be a major problem. Experience has shown us that anything under 3.1 litres (approximately 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is often capable of being adequately diluted by means of wholly filling the rest of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's very rare to find a vehicle having difficulties due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is rare - definitely not impossible to find. You will discover certain automobiles that don't endure any level of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Between 3.1 and 6.2 litres of Diesel in the Audi (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has proven that as many motorists get away with this as all those who don't. When deciding upon whether to chance it and simply fill it up remember that it is exactly like wagering everything on black - you've got a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything more than 6.2 litres of Diesel in your Petrol S3 ought to straight away be drained out seeing as your probability of getting away with that level of contamination is probably less than one in 50 - genuinely big odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Audi and drove it: Have you noticed any performance issues since putting the incorrect fuel in the S3? If that's the case, have it removed regardless of the quantity of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continuing to run driving a car that is starting to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination can likely result in even more damage being caused to your fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for assurance?
In that case get it removed. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is always some amount of danger resulting from running a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely implications of driving on the incorrect fuel include the motor not starting, running unevenly, reduced power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and so on. These are a few of the commonest Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and if you detect any of them cease driving and get it removed right away.

Keep away from getting any unqualified mechanic to try to repair your vehicle. We are Audi experts and hold the qualifications and practical experience required to make certain that you get back on the road with a minimum of hassle or trouble.
