BMW Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol BMW is a regular problem. And what you should do about it hinges on various factors. If you would like to find out what it is advisable to do about it then keep on reading.
Let us discuss the main factors to take into consideration whenever figuring out whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What level of Diesel did you put into the BMW, taking into account that the fuel capacity of the BMW 323Ci is normally around 63 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 3.15 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 323Ci will in most cases not really be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 3.15 litres (which is almost 5% of the overall fuel tank) is usually able to be adequately diluted by means of entirely filling the tank with Petrol.
It is rather uncommon to encounter a car experiencing difficulties due to lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is infrequently found - certainly not impossible to find. There are a few motor vehicles that will not stand any degree of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. In between 3.15 and 6.3 litres of Diesel in the BMW (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 scenario. Our experience has revealed that as many people get away with it as those who don't. Whenever you are trying to decide whether or not to chance it and simply fill it up remember that it is exactly like wagering it all on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything above 6.3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 323Ci should really promptly be drained out as your probability of succeeding with this amount of contamination is undoubtedly less than one in 50 - truly big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol BMW and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance problems since putting the wrong fuel in the 323Ci? In that case, get it drained irrespective of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive driving a vehicle that is beginning to suffer from the consequences of fuel contamination can likely cause even more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like peace of mind?
You should get it emptied. No matter the contamination ratio, there is always some degree of risk affiliated with driving a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Possible implications of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include things like the motor not starting, running lumpy, loss of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, and so on. These are some of the commonest Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and if you observe any of them stop and have it removed right now.
