BMW Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol BMW is a fairly typical mistake to make. And its remedy depends upon an assortment of factors. In case you would like to know what to do to sort it out then stay with me.
Listed here are the key variables to consider when choosing whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in to the BMW, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of the BMW 335xi is normally around 63 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Diesel, as little as 3.15 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 335xi will typically not necessarily be a significant problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities under 3.15 litres (which is almost 5% of the fuel tank volume) is often capable of being adequately diluted by means of completely filling up the remainder of the tank with the right fuel.
It is very rare to come across a car or truck going through issues due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind it is very infrequently found - not impossible to encounter. You will discover some vehicles that will not endure any level of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.15 and 6.3 litres of Diesel in the BMW (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has shown that as many motorists get away with it as those people who break down. Any time you are deciding on whether or not to risk it and just simply top it up consider that it is the same thing as gambling it all on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 6.3 litres of Diesel in your Petrol 335xi should really as soon as possible be drained since your likelihood of driving with that amount of contamination is almost certainly below one in fifty - definitely big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol BMW and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance difficulties after putting the incorrect fuel in your 335xi? If so, have it drained regardless of the amount of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive running a car that is currently beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination can typically result in increasing amounts of harm affecting the fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
Then get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is invariably some degree of danger caused by operating a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Probable results of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include things like the motor not starting, running lumpy, lack of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, etc. These are some of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you recognise any of them stop and get it drained asap.

Don't simply get any unqualified so-and-so to try to fix your vehicle. We are BMW experts and have the skills and experience necessary to make sure that you get back on the road with little hassle or trouble.
