Daihatsu Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Daihatsu is a fairly typical problem. And its solution will depend on a number of things. If you want to find out what you need to do about this then please read on.
Listed below are the key variables to take into consideration whenever determining whether to get a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel have you put in the Daihatsu, considering that the fuel tank capacity of your Daihatsu YRV is most likely approximately 40 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, as little as 2 litres of Diesel in a Petrol YRV will usually not be a massive problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything less than 2 litres (which is almost 5% of the whole fuel tank) is oftentimes capable of being completely diluted simply by entirely filling up the remainder of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's pretty uncommon to encounter a car having issues due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it's unusual - in no way impossible to encounter. You can get some vehicles that don't stand any amount of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Anywhere between 2 and 4 litres of Diesel in the Daihatsu (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our experience has confirmed that as many motorists get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever you are deciding upon whether to risk it and simply top it up bear in mind that it is just like wagering your car on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything over 4 litres of Diesel in your Petrol YRV should straight away be drained since your likelihood of driving with that quantity of contamination is very likely less than one in 50 - extremely long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Daihatsu and drove it: Have you noticed any performance difficulties ever since putting the incorrect fuel in the YRV? If that's the case, have it drained regardless of the amount of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Proceeding to drive driving a car that is already beginning to suffer the effects of wrong fuel contamination can likely lead to increasing amounts of harm being done to the fuel system parts.
  3. Are you interested in security?
Then get it emptied. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is invariably some amount of danger resulting from running a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Possible final outcomes of driving on the incorrect fuel include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and so on. These are several of the most common Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and should you observe any of them then stop and get it removed right now.
