Dodge Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Dodge is a common problem. And what you should do about it depends on various factors. In case you would like to know what you need to do to fix it then continue reading.
Listed here the key factors to take into account whenever choosing whether or not to get it drained:

  1. How much Diesel did you put into the Dodge, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Dodge Nitro is probably about 73 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, less than 3.65 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Nitro will typically not necessarily be a major problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities under 3.65 litres (close to 5% of the entire fuel tank volume) is very often capable of being completely diluted simply by entirely filling the tank with the right fuel.
It's highly unusual to find a vehicle experiencing problems due to below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it's infrequent - in no way impossible to encounter. You can get some automobiles that will not endure any quantity of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.65 and 7.3 litres of Diesel in the Dodge (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our working experience has shown that as many people get away with it as all those who break down. Any time you're deciding on whether to risk it and just simply top it up bear in mind that it is much like betting all of it on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything more than 7.3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Nitro should really straightaway be drained seeing that your likelihood of getting away with this level of contamination is undoubtedly less than one in 50 - genuinely long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Dodge and drove it: Have you noted any performance issues as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the Nitro? If that's the case, get it removed irrespective of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Continuing to drive driving a motor vehicle that is now starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination can just be responsible for progressively more damage being caused to your fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like peace of mind?
Simply get it removed. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is invariably some amount of danger linked with operating a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible implications of driving on the wrong fuel can include the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, losing power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so on. These are a few of the most common Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and if you recognise any of them then stop driving and have it drained asap.

Steer clear of having any unqualified mechanic to try to fix your automobile. We are Dodge experts and hold the credentials and expertise required to ensure you are back on the road with no hassle or trouble.

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
