Fiat Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Fiat is a fairly typical mistake to make. And its solution is based on an assortment of things. If perhaps you would like to know what you need to do about this then stay with me.
Listed here are the key factors to keep in mind whenever determining whether to have your car drained:

  1. How much Diesel did you put into the Fiat, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of your Fiat 500 is probably approximately 35 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Diesel, something like 1.75 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 500 will most of the time not really be a huge problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything less than 1.75 litres (which is roughly 5% of the total fuel tank capacity) is often capable of being completely diluted by means of completely filling up the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It's pretty rare to come across a car or truck experiencing issues with lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Remember that it is uncommon - definitely not impossible to encounter. You can get a number of motor vehicles that don't stand any degree of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 1.75 and 3.5 litres of Diesel in the Fiat (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has revealed that as many drivers get away with it as those who don't. Any time you're deciding upon whether to chance it and basically fill it up bear in mind that it is the same as betting all of it on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything above 3.5 litres of Diesel in your Petrol 500 should really straight away be removed seeing that your likelihood of getting away with that level of contamination is almost certainly below one in 50 - really big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Fiat and drove it: Have you noticed any performance issues since putting the bad fuel in your 500? If that's the case, get it removed regardless of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continuing to run running an automobile that is beginning to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will just end up in more harm being done to your fuel system components.
  3. Do you want assurance?
Simply get it drained. No matter the contamination ratio, there is inevitably some extent of risk linked with operating a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Probable implications of driving a vehicle on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the commonest Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and in the event that you notice any of them stop driving and get it removed immediately.

Steer clear of getting any untrained so-and-so to try to drain your vehicle. We are Fiat specialists and hold the qualifications and knowledge necessary to ensure you get back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.

Putting Super Unleaded, or Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate Unleaded, etc, will have the exact same effect as putting regular unleaded petrol in your diesel car and will need to be drained out and flushed.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
