Honda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Honda is a common mistake to make. And what you want to do about it varies according to an assortment of factors. In case you would like to know what you have to do to fix it then stay with me.
Listed here are the main variables to consider when determining whether to have your car drained:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put in the Honda, considering that the fuel capacity of the Honda Integra Type-R is usually about 50 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, something like 2.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Integra Type-R will generally not necessarily be a significant problem. Experience has taught us that anything less than 2.5 litres (roughly 5% of the total fuel tank) is sometimes able to be completely diluted simply by completely topping the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's extremely rare to find an automobile having problems due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is unusual - not impossible to find. There are a number of cars that will not endure any level of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Anywhere between 2.5 and 5 litres of Diesel in the Honda (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our experience demonstrates that as many people get away with it as all those who don't. Any time you are deciding upon whether or not to risk it and just simply fill it up bear in mind that it is much like gambling everything on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Integra Type-R must right away be drained out since your probability of driving with that amount of contamination is in all likelihood lower than one in 50 - seriously big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Honda and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance issues since putting the wrong fuel in the Integra Type-R? If so, get it drained regardless of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continually driving a car that is currently starting to suffer from the effect of wrong fuel contamination will typically cause even more damage affecting the fuel system.
  3. Do you need security?
Simply get it drained. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is invariably some amount of risk in connection with operating a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Probable results of driving a car on the wrong fuel can include the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, reduced power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and so on. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and in the event that you observe any of them stop and have it drained right away.

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
