Honda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Honda is a regular mistake to make. And what you have to do about it is based on a number of things. In the event that you would like to find out what you should do about this then please read on.
Here are the most crucial factors to keep in mind whenever figuring out whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel have you put into the Honda, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Honda Jazz is most likely roughly 42 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, less than 2.1 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Jazz will normally not be a significant problem. Experience has taught us that an amount less than 2.1 litres (which is 5% of the fuel tank) is in many instances able to be adequately diluted by completely topping the rest of the tank with Petrol.
It's very rare to encounter a car having problems because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Do not forget that it is very uncommon - definitely not impossible to find. There are a few automobiles that don't stand any level of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Between 2.1 and 4.2 litres of Diesel in the Honda (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has demonstrated that as many people get away with it as those who break down. When deciding whether or not to risk it and just simply fill it up recognise that it is much like wagering your car on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 4.2 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Jazz must promptly be removed seeing as your probability of succeeding with that level of contamination is probably less than one in fifty - truly huge odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Honda and drove it: Have you spotted any performance problems as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in your Jazz? If you have, get it drained no matter the volume of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive running an automobile that is already beginning to suffer from the effects of fuel contamination will probably definitely lead to progressively more harm being done to the fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like assurance?
Then simply just get it removed. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of danger resulting from driving a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Probable implications of driving on the incorrect fuel normally include the engine not starting, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, etc. These are a few of the commonest Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and if you notice any of them cease driving and get it drained as soon as possible.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
