Honda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Honda is a well-known mistake to make. And exactly what you want to do about it is based on several different things. In case you want to know what it is advisable to do to sort it out then keep reading.
These are the most important factors to consider whenever determining whether to have your car drained:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel have you put in to the Honda, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your Honda NSx-T is most likely approximately 70 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, as little as 3.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol NSx-T will typically not really be a massive problem. Experience has taught us that anything under 3.5 litres (close to 5% of the total fuel tank volume) is frequently capable of being completely diluted simply by thoroughly topping the tank with the right fuel.
It is highly rare to come across an automobile experiencing difficulties due to below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it's unusual - in no way impossible to find. You will discover a number of automobiles that will not stand any amount of contamination in the slightest.
    2. In between 3.5 and 7 litres of Diesel in the Honda (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 situation. Our practical experience has confirmed that as many people get away with this as those people who don't. When you are deciding on whether or not to chance it and just simply top it up recognise that it is the same thing as betting everything on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything over 7 litres of Diesel in your Petrol NSx-T should really straightaway be drained seeing as your likelihood of succeeding with this quantity of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in 50 - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Honda and drove it: Have you observed any performance difficulties ever since putting the wrong fuel in the NSx-T? If you have, get it removed regardless of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Still driving a vehicle that is already starting to suffer the consequences of fuel contamination can only cause increasing amounts of damage being caused to your fuel system components.
  3. Do you want peace of mind?
Simply get it removed. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is always a certain level of threat connected to operating a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Probable final outcomes of driving a car on the incorrect fuel normally include the motor not starting, running unevenly, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are some of the most common Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and should you recognise any of them cease driving and have it removed asap.
