Honda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Honda is a common mistake to make. And its remedy will depend on an assortment of things. In case you would like to know what you must do to sort it out then stay with me.
These are the key variables to think about when making a decision whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel have you put in to the Honda, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of the Honda Shuttle is probably around 65 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, as little as 3.25 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Shuttle will quite often not be a significant problem. Experience has taught us that anything under 3.25 litres (about 5% of the total fuel tank volume) is sometimes capable of being adequately diluted through entirely topping up the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It is extremely uncommon to come across a car or truck suffering from difficulties due to below 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Be aware that it's infrequently found - definitely not impossible to find. There are a number of cars that will not stand any amount of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.25 and 6.5 litres of Diesel in the Honda (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our expertise demonstrates that as many drivers get away with this as those who don't. Whenever deciding upon whether to risk it and just top it up bear in mind that it is the same as gambling your car on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything over 6.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Shuttle must promptly be drained since your probability of succeeding with this level of contamination is almost certainly less than one in fifty - genuinely long odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Honda and drove it: Have you observed any performance problems after putting the incorrect fuel in the Shuttle? If so, get it drained regardless of the amount of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continually running a vehicle that is now beginning to suffer from the effect of wrong fuel contamination will probably likely bring about increasing amounts of harm affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Are you looking for reassurance?
Then get it removed. Regardless of contamination ratio, there is always some extent of danger caused by operating a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible implications of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are some of the most typical Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you observe any of them then stop driving and get it removed immediately.

Refrain from getting any jack-of-all-trades to attend your car. We are Honda specialists and have the skills and knowledge required to make certain that you get back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
