Hyundai Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Hyundai is a very common problem. And its remedy hinges on several things. In case you want to find out what it is advisable to do about this then continue reading.
Let us discuss the main variables to think about when making a decision whether or not to get it drained:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put into the Hyundai, considering that the fuel capacity of your Hyundai Accent is probably around 45 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Diesel, something like 2.25 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Accent will generally not really be a major problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities less than 2.25 litres (which is 5% of the overall fuel tank) is quite often able to be adequately diluted through thoroughly topping the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It's very unusual to come across a motor vehicle going through problems due to less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it's uncommon - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are a number of motor vehicles that won't stand any amount of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 2.25 and 4.5 litres of Diesel in the Hyundai (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 scenario. Our expertise has shown that as many motorists get away with this as those who break down. Whenever you are deciding on whether to risk it and just simply top it up consider that it is much like wagering everything on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything over 4.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Accent must straightaway be drained because your likelihood of getting away with that level of contamination is undoubtedly less than one in fifty - definitely long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Hyundai and drove it: Have you observed any performance troubles after putting the bad fuel in the Accent? If that's the case, get it drained regardless of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Continually driving an automobile that is currently beginning to suffer the effects of wrong fuel contamination can definitely cause increasing amounts of harm affecting your fuel system components.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
Simply get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably a certain level of risk resulting from operating a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely final outcomes of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so on. These are some of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you recognise any of them stop and have it removed asap.

Refrain from having any unqualified so-and-so to attend your vehicle. We are Hyundai specialists and possess the accreditation and knowledge required to make sure that you are back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.
