Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Kia is a regular mistake. And what you need to do about it depends upon several things. Assuming you would like to know what it is best to do to sort it out then keep reading.
Listed below are the main variables to keep in mind whenever deciding whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel have you put in the Kia, taking into account that the fuel capacity of the Kia Carnival is in most cases around 75 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 3.75 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Carnival will typically not really be a huge problem. Experience has shown us that quantities under 3.75 litres (5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is oftentimes capable of being completely diluted by thoroughly topping the rest of the tank with the right fuel.
It is highly rare to come across an automobile going through difficulties due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Remember that it's infrequent - not impossible to encounter. You will discover certain motor vehicles that don't endure any level of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 3.75 and 7.5 litres of Diesel in the Kia (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our experience has shown us that as many motorists get away with this as all those who don't. Whenever you are deciding whether or not to risk it and just top it up remember that it is very much like betting your car on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 7.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Carnival should right away be removed seeing as your probability of getting away with that level of contamination is certainly less than one in 50 - seriously long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Kia and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance troubles after putting the wrong fuel in the Carnival? If so, have it removed no matter the amount of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Still running a motor vehicle that is beginning to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination can likely bring about increasing amounts of damage being caused to the fuel system components.
  3. Do you want assurance?
Simply get it drained. Regardless of contamination ratio, there is inevitably some amount of risk resulting from operating a Petrol vehicle on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely consequences of driving on the incorrect fuel normally include the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, lack of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and the like. These are several of the most common Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and should you observe any of them then stop driving and have it removed as soon as possible.
