Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Kia is a regular error. And its solution hinges on several things. In case you want to find out what it is best to do to fix it then continue reading.
Here are the most important factors to take into account when deciding whether to have a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in to the Kia, taking into consideration that the fuel capacity of the Kia Cerato is in most cases about 55 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, as little as 2.75 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Cerato will more often than not not necessarily be a huge problem. Experience has shown us that anything less than 2.75 litres (approximately 5% of the entire fuel tank capacity) is in many instances able to be completely diluted simply by entirely topping up the rest of the tank with the correct fuel.
It is relatively uncommon to find a car or truck experiencing problems due to lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is unusual - in no way impossible to find. You can get a few cars that will not stand any degree of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 2.75 and 5.5 litres of Diesel in the Kia (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our experience has demonstrated that as many people get away with this as those people who break down. When deciding on whether or not to risk it and simply fill it up remember that it is the same as gambling your car on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything more than 5.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Cerato really should straight away be drained seeing that your probability of succeeding with this quantity of contamination is more than likely less than one in fifty - seriously big odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Kia and drove it: Have you detected any performance difficulties after putting the wrong fuel in your Cerato? If you have, get it drained regardless of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Still driving a vehicle that is now starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination will definitely bring about more harm being caused to your fuel system components.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
Then get it removed. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of danger in connection with operating a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely results of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include the motor not starting, running lumpy, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and so on. These are some of the most typical Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and should you observe any of them stop and get it removed right now.

Avoid getting any jack-of-all-trades to try to drain your automobile. We are Kia experts and have got the skills and knowledge required to make sure that you are back on the road with little hassle or worry.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
