Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Kia is a well-known mistake to make. And exactly what you should do about it is dependent upon a variety of things. If you would like to know what it is advisable to do to fix it then read on.
Right here are the most important variables to be aware of whenever deciding whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put into the Kia, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of the Kia Opirus is most likely around 70 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, less than 3.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Opirus will generally not necessarily be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that anything under 3.5 litres (which is almost 5% of the whole fuel tank capacity) is generally able to be sufficiently diluted by means of totally filling up the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It is highly unusual to encounter a vehicle going through problems due to less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Be aware that it is infrequently found - certainly not impossible to find. There are some automobiles that don't endure any quantity of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 3.5 and 7 litres of Diesel in the Kia (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our experience has demonstrated that as many people get away with this as all those who break down. Any time you're figuring out whether or not to chance it and simply top it up remember that it is the same as gambling everything on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything over 7 litres of Diesel in your Petrol Opirus must promptly be removed because your probability of getting away with this quantity of contamination is very likely lower than one in fifty - genuinely big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Kia and drove it: Have you spotted any performance concerns as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the Opirus? If that's the case, have it removed irrespective of the volume of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Still driving a motor vehicle that is already starting to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will just lead to progressively more harm affecting the fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
In that case get it removed. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably some degree of risk affiliated with running a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Probable results of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, and so on. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and if you observe any of them stop and get it drained right now.

Steer clear of getting any unqualified so-and-so to attend your automobile. We are Kia specialists and have got the accreditation and working experience required to ensure that you are back on the road with little hassle or worry.

Putting Super Unleaded, or Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate Unleaded, etc, will have the exact same effect as putting regular unleaded petrol in your diesel car and will need to be drained out and flushed.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
