Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Kia is a regularly occurring problem. And what you have to do about it is determined by an assortment of factors. In case you would like to know what you have to do about this then stay with me.
Listed here the most crucial variables to consider whenever making a decision whether or not to get your car drained:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in to the Kia, considering that the fuel capacity of the Kia Sephia is normally roughly 50 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, less than 2.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Sephia will quite often not necessarily be a big problem. Experience has taught us that anything less than 2.5 litres (roughly 5% of the overall fuel tank) is quite often capable of being sufficiently diluted by wholly filling up the remainder of the tank with the right fuel.
It is relatively unusual to encounter an automobile experiencing difficulties because of less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Remember that it is very unusual - in no way impossible to encounter. There are a number of automobiles that will not stand any degree of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 2.5 and 5 litres of Diesel in the Kia (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our practical experience has revealed that as many people get away with this as all those who break down. Whenever deciding upon whether or not to risk it and simply top it up recognise that it is the same as gambling it all on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Sephia ought to right away be removed because your likelihood of driving with this quantity of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in fifty - genuinely huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Kia and drove it: Have you observed any performance issues ever since putting the wrong fuel in your Sephia? If so, get it removed regardless of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continually running an automobile that is starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination will probably definitely bring about even more damage being caused to your fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like security?
Then get it drained. Whatever the contamination ratio, there is inevitably some degree of danger connected with operating a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Probable final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, etc. These are some of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and should you notice any of them then stop and get it drained immediately.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
