Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Kia is a regularly occurring mistake. And its solution depends upon various things. If perhaps you would like to find out what you must do to fix it then read on.
Let us discuss the key variables to think about when deciding whether to get it drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put in to the Kia, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of the Kia Sportage is probably around 58 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, as little as 2.9 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Sportage will in most situations not be a major problem. Experience has shown us that anything less than 2.9 litres (which is almost 5% of the entire fuel tank capacity) is in many instances capable of being adequately diluted by means of totally topping up the rest of the tank with the right fuel.
It is quite rare to come across a car experiencing difficulties because of less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it is very unusual - certainly not impossible to find. There are a few vehicles that will not stand any degree of fuel contamination at all.
    2. In between 2.9 and 5.8 litres of Diesel in the Kia (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has demonstrated that as many drivers get away with it as those people who break down. When figuring out whether to chance it and simply top it up consider that it is the same thing as gambling everything on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 5.8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol Sportage must promptly be drained out since your likelihood of driving with that quantity of contamination is more than likely less than one in fifty - seriously huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Kia and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance concerns as a result of putting the wrong fuel in the Sportage? In that case, have it emptied regardless of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Still driving a car that is now beginning to suffer from the effect of fuel contamination can definitely be responsible for more and more damage affecting your fuel system.
  3. Would you like assurance?
In that case get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is always some amount of danger resulting from running a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Possible results of driving on the wrong fuel can include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, loss of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and so on. These are a few of the most common Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop driving and get it removed as soon as possible.
