Lexus Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Lexus is a well-known mistake to make. And what you should do about it depends upon a few things. In case you would like to find out what it is advisable to do about it then stay with me.
Listed here are the key factors to think about when deciding on whether to have a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in the Lexus, taking into consideration that the fuel tank capacity of the Lexus IS 300 is usually about 70 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, less than 3.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol IS 300 will usually not be a major problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything under 3.5 litres (which is roughly 5% of the total fuel tank) is generally capable of being completely diluted simply by entirely filling the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It's relatively rare to find an automobile experiencing difficulties due to under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is very rare - not impossible to encounter. You can get certain automobiles that won't endure any level of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. In between 3.5 and 7 litres of Diesel in the Lexus (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our practical experience has revealed that as many motorists get away with it as those who break down. Whenever deciding upon whether to chance it and basically fill it up consider that it is the same thing as gambling it all on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 7 litres of Diesel in your Petrol IS 300 should really right away be drained since your likelihood of getting away with that quantity of contamination is more than likely lower than one in 50 - extremely huge odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Lexus and drove it: Have you observed any performance troubles ever since putting the wrong fuel in your IS 300? If so, have it drained no matter the amount of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Continuing to run running a car that is currently beginning to suffer from the effect of wrong fuel contamination will just result in even more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
Simply get it emptied. No matter the contamination ratio, there is always some degree of threat connected with operating a Petrol motor on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Possible outcomes of driving a vehicle on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, lack of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and the like. These are several of the most typical Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and in the event that you detect any of them then cease driving and get it removed immediately.

Refrain from getting any unqualified mechanic to try to drain your vehicle. We are Lexus specialists and have got the qualifications and knowledge needed to ensure that you get back on the road with no hassle or worry.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
