Mazda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mazda is a fairly typical error. And exactly what you have to do about it will depend on various things. Assuming you want to find out what to do to sort it out then please read on.
Here are the main variables to consider whenever figuring out whether to get your car drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put in to the Mazda, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of the Mazda Mx-6 is normally approximately 60 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Diesel, less than 3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Mx-6 will normally not be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 3 litres (which is approximately 5% of the fuel tank volume) is sometimes able to be completely diluted by means of entirely filling the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's relatively unusual to come across a car having difficulties because of below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is very infrequent - in no way impossible to find. There are actually some automobiles that won't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. In between 3 and 6 litres of Diesel in the Mazda (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our experience has confirmed that as many drivers get away with this as those people who break down. When trying to decide whether or not to risk it and just simply top it up recognise that it is just like gambling your car on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 6 litres of Diesel in your Petrol Mx-6 should really straightaway be drained out since your likelihood of getting away with this level of contamination is undoubtedly below one in fifty - definitely long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Mazda and drove it: Have you spotted any kind of performance problems after putting the incorrect fuel in your Mx-6? If that's the case, get it emptied irrespective of the amount of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Still driving a car that is currently starting to suffer from the consequences of fuel contamination can just lead to increasing amounts of harm being caused to the fuel system components.
  3. Would you like assurance?
You should get it drained. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably some amount of threat affiliated with operating a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely results of driving a vehicle on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, decrease in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the commonest Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and if you detect any of them stop and have it removed immediately.
