Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a common mistake to make. And its solution depends on an assortment of factors. If you would like to know what you must do about it then read on.
Here are the key factors to take into account when making a decision whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put in the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes A180 is usually roughly 54 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, less than 2.7 litres of Diesel in a Petrol A180 will in most cases not necessarily be a massive problem. Experience has shown us that anything less than 2.7 litres (which is about 5% of the fuel tank volume) is very often capable of being adequately diluted through totally filling up the rest of the tank with the right fuel.
It is quite unusual to find a car or truck going through difficulties due to below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is very rare - in no way impossible to find. You will discover some cars that won't stand any degree of contamination at all.
    2. In between 2.7 and 5.4 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our working experience has proven that as many motorists get away with this as all those who don't. When you are deciding whether to chance it and just fill it up recognise that it is the same thing as betting everything on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything above 5.4 litres of Diesel in your Petrol A180 should really straight away be drained seeing that your likelihood of succeeding with that level of contamination is certainly lower than one in fifty - truly long odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you spotted any kind of performance difficulties as a result of putting the wrong fuel in your A180? If you have, get it drained irrespective of the amount of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Proceeding to run driving an automobile that is currently starting to suffer the consequences of wrong fuel contamination will likely lead to more and more harm affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Do you need reassurance?
Simply get it removed. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of threat associated with operating a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Possible consequences of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel can include the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, etc. These are a few of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop driving and have it removed immediately.

Refrain from having any general so-and-so to attend your car. We are Mercedes experts and hold the skills and working experience needed to ensure that you get back on the road with a minimum of hassle or worry.
