Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a very common problem. And its solution will depend on a few things. If perhaps you would like to know what to do to fix it then keep on reading.
Listed here are the most crucial variables to consider when figuring out whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put in to the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes B250 is in most cases about 50 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 2.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol B250 will usually not really be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that anything under 2.5 litres (close to 5% of the entire fuel tank capacity) is oftentimes able to be completely diluted by completely topping the rest of the tank with Petrol.
It is quite uncommon to encounter a motor vehicle going through issues due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is rare - not impossible to encounter. You can get some vehicles that don't stand any level of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 2.5 and 5 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has revealed that as many people get away with this as all those who break down. Any time you are deciding upon whether or not to chance it and just fill it up consider that it is much like wagering it all on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol B250 must as soon as possible be drained out because your likelihood of driving with this quantity of contamination is more than likely less than one in 50 - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you noticed any performance issues as a result of putting the bad fuel in your B250? If you have, have it drained regardless of the quantity of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continuing to run driving a vehicle that is already beginning to suffer from the consequences of fuel contamination will definitely be responsible for more and more damage affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Do you need security?
In that case get it removed. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of risk in connection with driving a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Probable consequences of driving on the wrong fuel include the motor not starting, running lumpy, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or bunged injectors, etc. These are a few of the most typical Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and should you notice any of them then stop driving and have it removed asap.

Avoid getting any unqualified so-and-so to attend your automobile. We are Mercedes experts and have got the accreditation and practical experience required to make certain you are back on the road with minimal hassle or worry.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
