Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a fairly typical mistake. And what you have to do about it will depend on several different factors. If you would like to find out what you need to do about this then keep on reading.
These are the most important variables to take into consideration whenever deciding on whether or not to have it drained:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel did you put in the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes CL55 AMG is normally about 88 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, as little as 4.4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol CL55 AMG will most of the time not really be a major problem. Experience has shown us that anything under 4.4 litres (which is roughly 5% of the whole fuel tank capacity) is frequently capable of being sufficiently diluted by wholly topping the rest of the tank with the right fuel.
It is relatively rare to find a car suffering from problems due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is very uncommon - definitely not impossible to find. There are actually a number of motor vehicles that won't endure any level of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Between 4.4 and 8.8 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our experience demonstrates that as many motorists get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever you are deciding upon whether to risk it and simply top it up recognise that it is very much like gambling everything on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 8.8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol CL55 AMG really should promptly be removed since your likelihood of driving with that amount of contamination is probably less than one in fifty - seriously big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance difficulties ever since putting the bad fuel in the CL55 AMG? If you have, have it drained irrespective of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Continually running a vehicle that is now starting to suffer from the effect of fuel contamination will probably just cause even more harm affecting the fuel system parts.
  3. Are you looking for assurance?
Then get it drained. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is always some amount of risk caused by running a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Possible consequences of driving a vehicle on the incorrect fuel can include the engine not starting, running unevenly, decrease in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most typical Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and should you detect any of them then stop driving and have it drained as soon as possible.

Steer clear of getting any jack-of-all-trades to try to fix your vehicle. We are Mercedes experts and have the qualifications and practical experience required to ensure you are back on the road with no hassle or worry.
