Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a fairly typical mistake. And its solution is dependent upon several things. In case you want to find out what to do about it then stay with me.
Let us discuss the key variables to consider when deciding on whether or not to get your car drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put in the Mercedes, taking into consideration that the fuel capacity of the Mercedes CL65 AMG is probably around 88 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, less than 4.4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol CL65 AMG will in most cases not necessarily be a massive problem. Experience has taught us that an amount under 4.4 litres (which is roughly 5% of the overall fuel tank) is usually capable of being completely diluted through wholly topping the rest of the tank with Petrol.
It is quite rare to encounter a car or truck going through difficulties due to under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is infrequently found - not impossible to encounter. You will discover some motor vehicles that don't stand any quantity of fuel contamination at all.
    2. In between 4.4 and 8.8 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has shown that as many people get away with this as those who don't. When deciding upon whether or not to chance it and just simply fill it up bear in mind that it is much like betting your car on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything above 8.8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol CL65 AMG really should immediately be drained since your likelihood of getting away with this level of contamination is probably lower than one in 50 - seriously long odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you spotted any performance troubles as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the CL65 AMG? In that case, have it removed no matter the amount of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Still running a car that is currently beginning to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will likely end up in progressively more harm being caused to the fuel system parts.
  3. Do you need assurance?
You should get it drained. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is always some degree of risk affiliated with operating a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible implications of driving on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, etc. These are some of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you recognise any of them cease driving and have it removed immediately.
