Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a fairly typical mistake to make. And its remedy will depend on several different things. If perhaps you would like to know what you have to do to fix it then keep reading.
Here are the key variables to be aware of when choosing whether or not to get it drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put into the Mercedes, taking into consideration that the fuel tank capacity of your Mercedes E250 CGI is probably about 59 litres?
    1. A small amount of Diesel, less than 2.95 litres of Diesel in a Petrol E250 CGI will in most cases not be a significant problem. Experience has proven to us that anything less than 2.95 litres (approximately 5% of the fuel tank) is in many instances capable of being sufficiently diluted by wholly topping up the tank with the correct fuel.
It's pretty rare to encounter a car experiencing problems with less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is uncommon - not impossible to find. There are actually a few automobiles that will not endure any degree of fuel contamination at all.
    2. In between 2.95 and 5.9 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our working experience has confirmed that as many drivers get away with this as all those who break down. Whenever you are figuring out whether or not to risk it and simply top it up recognise that it is very much like wagering all of it on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 5.9 litres of Diesel in a Petrol E250 CGI must as soon as possible be removed because your likelihood of succeeding with this level of contamination is more than likely less than one in fifty - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you detected any performance concerns after putting the bad fuel in the E250 CGI? If so, get it emptied irrespective of the volume of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Still running an automobile that is currently starting to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination can typically end up in increasing amounts of harm being done to your fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
Then get it emptied. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is always some amount of threat connected to driving a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Possible implications of driving on the wrong fuel include the motor refusing to start, running unevenly, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, etc. These are some of the most typical Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop driving and get it drained right away.
