Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a well-known problem. And its remedy is based on several things. In the event that you want to know what you need to do about this then keep on reading.
Here are the key factors to to consider whenever choosing whether or not to have it drained:

  1. What level of Diesel did you put into the Mercedes, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes E280 is probably roughly 80 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, something like 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol E280 will normally not necessarily be a massive problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything under 4 litres (approximately 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is generally capable of being sufficiently diluted by means of completely topping up the rest of the tank with Petrol.
It's relatively rare to come across a car or truck suffering from problems with below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is very uncommon - definitely not impossible to find. You can get a number of cars that don't stand any degree of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 4 and 8 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our experience demonstrates that as many motorists get away with this as those people who break down. When figuring out whether to risk it and basically fill it up remember that it is very much like betting your car on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol E280 should really right away be drained out as your likelihood of succeeding with that amount of contamination is undoubtedly less than one in fifty - genuinely big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you detected any performance problems ever since putting the bad fuel in your E280? If so, have it drained irrespective of the quantity of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Proceeding to run running a motor vehicle that is starting to suffer the consequences of fuel contamination will probably likely lead to even more damage affecting the fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like peace of mind?
You should get it drained. Whatever the contamination ratio, there is always some degree of risk caused by driving a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Possible consequences of driving on the incorrect fuel can include the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, and so on. These are some of the most common Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and should you recognise any of them cease driving and get it drained right away.

Do not just get any unqualified so-and-so to try to drain your automobile. We are Mercedes experts and have the accreditation and expertise needed to ensure that you get back on the road with little hassle or trouble.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
