Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a regular error. And its remedy will depend on a few factors. Assuming you would like to know what it is advisable to do about this then stay with me.
Here are the most crucial factors to consider when making a decision whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. What amount of Diesel did you put in to the Mercedes, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of the Mercedes ML 63 AMG is most likely around 95 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, less than 4.75 litres of Diesel in a Petrol ML 63 AMG will normally not really be a huge problem. Experience has taught us that an amount under 4.75 litres (which is approximately 5% of the overall fuel tank) is sometimes able to be sufficiently diluted by totally topping the tank with the right fuel.
It is extremely rare to find a car going through difficulties with lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is infrequently found - definitely not impossible to find. There are actually certain vehicles that won't endure any degree of contamination at all.
    2. Anywhere between 4.75 and 9.5 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our experience demonstrates that as many drivers get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever you are deciding on whether or not to risk it and just fill it up bear in mind that it is very much like wagering your car on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 9.5 litres of Diesel in your Petrol ML 63 AMG should right away be drained as your likelihood of getting away with this amount of contamination is very likely below one in 50 - seriously big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you noted any performance problems ever since putting the wrong fuel in the ML 63 AMG? In that case, have it drained irrespective of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continually driving a vehicle that is currently beginning to suffer the consequences of wrong fuel contamination will probably just lead to even more harm affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
Then get it emptied. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is always some degree of risk caused by running a Petrol motor on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely implications of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel can include the motor refusing to start, running unevenly, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most typical Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you detect any of them then stop driving and have it drained asap.
