Mini Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mini is a regularly occurring error. And its solution depends upon a variety of factors. In the event that you would like to know what you need to do about this then please read on.
These are the most important variables to keep in mind when determining whether to have it drained:

  1. What level of Diesel have you put into the Mini, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of your Mini One Clubman is normally about 40 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 2 litres of Diesel in a Petrol One Clubman will generally not necessarily be a huge problem. Experience has taught us that an amount under 2 litres (almost 5% of the total fuel tank volume) is often capable of being completely diluted by thoroughly topping up the rest of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's pretty unusual to encounter a car or truck going through issues because of below 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it's rare - in no way impossible to find. You can get some motor vehicles that won't endure any level of contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 2 and 4 litres of Diesel in the Mini (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our experience has revealed that as many drivers get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever deciding on whether or not to risk it and simply top it up bear in mind that it is the same thing as wagering everything on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol One Clubman must immediately be removed since your probability of getting away with this amount of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in fifty - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Mini and drove it: Have you noted any kind of performance problems ever since putting the bad fuel in your One Clubman? If you have, have it emptied irrespective of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Proceeding to drive driving a car that is currently starting to suffer from the effect of fuel contamination can just result in even more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Are you looking for assurance?
Then get it drained. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is inevitably a certain level of risk in connection with driving a Petrol vehicle on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely consequences of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and the like. These are several of the commonest Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and in the event that you notice any of them then stop driving and have it removed as soon as possible.

Do not just get any unqualified mechanic to try to drain your vehicle. We are Mini specialists and have the accreditation and experience needed to ensure that you get back on the road with little hassle or trouble.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
