Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot is a very common problem. And exactly what you have to do about it is determined by several factors. If perhaps you would like to know what you have to do about this then stay with me.
Here are the most important variables to to consider whenever determining whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put into the Peugeot, keeping in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Peugeot 407 is normally approximately 66 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 3.3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 407 will more often than not not be a huge problem. Experience has shown us that anything under 3.3 litres (which is 5% of the entire fuel tank) is frequently capable of being completely diluted through entirely filling up the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It is quite unusual to encounter an automobile suffering from difficulties because of less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind it is infrequent - in no way impossible to find. There are a few cars that will not stand any quantity of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 3.3 and 6.6 litres of Diesel in the Peugeot (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has shown that as many drivers get away with this as all those who break down. Whenever deciding whether to chance it and just top it up consider that it is much like gambling it all on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything above 6.6 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 407 ought to immediately be drained out seeing that your likelihood of driving with this quantity of contamination is certainly less than one in 50 - really big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance difficulties ever since putting the wrong fuel in your 407? If so, have it removed regardless of the amount of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continually running a motor vehicle that is now beginning to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will probably only end up in more and more damage being caused to the fuel system parts.
  3. Do you want reassurance?
You should get it emptied. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is inevitably some degree of danger caused by running a Petrol vehicle on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Possible results of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, losing power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are a few of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and if you observe any of them stop driving and get it drained right now.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
