Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot is a regular error. And what you need to do about it hinges on several different things. In the event that you want to know what to do about this then keep reading.
Here are the most crucial variables to consider when determining whether to have a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put in to the Peugeot, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Peugeot 5008 is in most cases approximately 60 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, something like 3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 5008 will more often than not not be a big problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities less than 3 litres (approximately 5% of the total fuel tank) is sometimes able to be adequately diluted through completely topping the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's rather uncommon to find a vehicle going through problems because of below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it's infrequent - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are a number of cars that won't endure any amount of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 3 and 6 litres of Diesel in the Peugeot (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our working experience has demonstrated that as many motorists get away with it as those people who don't. Any time you are trying to decide whether or not to risk it and just top it up recognise that it is the same as wagering your car on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything over 6 litres of Diesel in your Petrol 5008 should really straightaway be drained out because your probability of driving with that level of contamination is certainly below one in fifty - seriously huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot and drove it: Have you spotted any performance difficulties ever since putting the wrong fuel in your 5008? If you have, get it removed irrespective of the quantity of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Still driving a motor vehicle that is starting to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination will definitely end up in increasing amounts of harm being done to your fuel system parts.
  3. Do you need security?
You should get it removed. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is always a certain level of threat affiliated with running a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Likely final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel include the engine not starting, running lumpy, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and so on. These are some of the commonest Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and if you notice any of them then cease driving and get it drained right now.
