Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot is a regularly occurring problem. And what you have to do about it varies according to several different things. If you would like to know what it is best to do to sort it out then keep on reading.
Let us discuss the main variables to be aware of whenever making a decision whether to get it drained:

  1. What amount of Diesel did you put into the Peugeot, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Peugeot 607 is usually roughly 80 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Diesel, as little as 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 607 will most of the time not really be a significant problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 4 litres (5% of the total fuel tank volume) is often able to be adequately diluted simply by entirely filling the tank with the correct fuel.
It is extremely uncommon to encounter a car having issues with lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Do not forget that it is rare - not impossible to encounter. You will discover certain vehicles that will not endure any amount of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 4 and 8 litres of Diesel in the Peugeot (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 situation. Our practical experience has confirmed that as many drivers get away with it as those who don't. When you are deciding upon whether or not to risk it and basically top it up recognise that it is the same as betting all of it on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol 607 must as soon as possible be drained since your likelihood of driving with that quantity of contamination is in all likelihood below one in 50 - genuinely huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot and drove it: Have you detected any performance concerns since putting the wrong fuel in your 607? If that's the case, get it drained no matter the quantity of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continuing to run driving a vehicle that is currently beginning to suffer from the effect of fuel contamination will definitely end up in even more harm affecting your fuel system.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
In that case get it drained. No matter the contamination ratio, there is inevitably a certain level of threat linked with driving a Petrol vehicle on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Possible final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, etc. These are some of the most typical Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and in the event that you detect any of them then stop and get it removed right now.
