Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot is a regular mistake. And what you need to do about it is determined by an assortment of factors. If you want to find out what it is advisable to do about it then please read on.
Let us discuss the key variables to keep in mind whenever deciding on whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put into the Peugeot, taking into consideration that the fuel tank capacity of the Peugeot 807 is normally approximately 80 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, less than 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 807 will in most cases not necessarily be a significant problem. Experience has taught us that anything under 4 litres (which is about 5% of the entire fuel tank) is sometimes able to be sufficiently diluted through totally topping up the remainder of the tank with Petrol.
It is extremely uncommon to find a vehicle experiencing problems due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind it is uncommon - in no way impossible to find. There are actually a few motor vehicles that don't endure any level of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Anywhere between 4 and 8 litres of Diesel in the Peugeot (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has confirmed that as many motorists get away with it as all those who don't. When you are deciding whether to chance it and just simply fill it up bear in mind that it is the same thing as betting everything on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything over 8 litres of Diesel in a Petrol 807 must immediately be removed as your probability of getting away with this level of contamination is probably lower than one in 50 - seriously long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Peugeot and drove it: Have you noted any kind of performance issues ever since putting the wrong fuel in your 807? If so, get it drained irrespective of the amount of Diesel or even the contamination percentage. Continually driving an automobile that is now beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination will typically result in more and more harm being done to the fuel system components.
  3. Are you looking for security?
In that case get it emptied. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably a certain level of risk resulting from running a Petrol engine on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Likely results of driving on the incorrect fuel include the motor not starting, running unevenly, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, and the like. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and in the event that you observe any of them then stop and get it drained asap.

Avoid getting any unqualified mechanic to try to repair your automobile. We are Peugeot experts and have got the credentials and knowledge required to make certain that you get back on the road with no hassle or trouble.

I put Diesel in a Petrol car and drove it. What do I do?

Answer

Turn off the car as soon as possible and call us. Continuing to run a vehicle on the wrong fuel can potentially damage it. We will be able to give you advice and assistance based on your circumstances

Will driving a Petrol car on Diesel cause damage to it?

Answer

It can. However, if the problem is caught and remedied quickly the risks will be minimal. Of the 1,500 vehicles we attend every month, less than 0.5% have suffered and substantial damage requiring parts replacement.

How much Diesel can I get away with in a Petrol car?

I know about petrol in diesel, but what about Super Unleaded?

Answer

Putting Super Unleaded, or Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate Unleaded, etc, will have the exact same effect as putting regular unleaded petrol in your diesel car and will need to be drained out and flushed.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
