Renault Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Renault is a regular mistake to make. And what you have to do about it depends upon a number of things. If you want to find out what you must do about it then stay with me.
Here are the most crucial variables to think about whenever determining whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. How much Diesel did you put into the Renault, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Renault Avantime is in most cases about 80 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Diesel, as little as 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Avantime will in most situations not be a huge problem. Experience has shown us that quantities less than 4 litres (which is roughly 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is very often capable of being completely diluted through thoroughly topping up the remainder of the tank with the right fuel.
It's extremely unusual to find a motor vehicle experiencing problems because of under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is very rare - not impossible to encounter. You will discover a few cars that will not stand any amount of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 4 and 8 litres of Diesel in the Renault (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our experience demonstrates that as many drivers get away with this as those people who don't. Any time you are trying to decide whether or not to risk it and simply fill it up bear in mind that it is just like betting all of it on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 8 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Avantime ought to right away be removed since your probability of succeeding with this level of contamination is more than likely below one in fifty - really big odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Renault and drove it: Have you seen any performance issues ever since putting the bad fuel in your Avantime? In that case, have it drained irrespective of the volume of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Continuing to drive driving a vehicle that is now beginning to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will just cause more and more harm affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Would you like peace of mind?
Simply get it removed. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of risk resulting from driving a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Probable implications of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include the engine not starting, running lumpy, losing power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and should you observe any of them then cease driving and get it removed right now.
