Renault Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Renault is a regular mistake. And its solution varies according to a number of things. If perhaps you would like to find out what you must do about this then continue reading.
Right here are the key variables to think about when choosing whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. What level of Diesel did you put in to the Renault, keeping in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Renault Koleos is most likely approximately 65 litres?
    1. Hardly any Diesel, something like 3.25 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Koleos will generally not be a big problem. Experience has shown us that anything less than 3.25 litres (which is about 5% of the whole fuel tank volume) is quite often capable of being sufficiently diluted by totally filling the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's very rare to encounter a car having difficulties because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it's infrequently found - definitely not impossible to encounter. You will discover certain cars that won't endure any quantity of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 3.25 and 6.5 litres of Diesel in the Renault (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 condition. Our experience has confirmed that as many drivers get away with it as those who don't. Whenever deciding on whether to risk it and basically top it up bear in mind that it is exactly like gambling it all on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything above 6.5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Koleos must right away be drained seeing as your likelihood of succeeding with that quantity of contamination is very likely lower than one in fifty - genuinely long odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Renault and drove it: Have you spotted any performance problems ever since putting the bad fuel in the Koleos? If so, have it emptied irrespective of the amount of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Continuing to run driving a vehicle that is already beginning to suffer from the consequences of wrong fuel contamination can only be responsible for more and more harm being caused to the fuel system parts.
  3. Are you interested in reassurance?
In that case get it removed. Whatever the contamination ratio, there is always some amount of risk caused by running a Petrol motor on fuel contaminated with Diesel. Probable consequences of driving a car on the incorrect fuel can include the motor not starting, running lumpy, decrease in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the most common Diesel in Petrol symptoms, and if you notice any of them cease driving and have it removed asap.
