Vauxhall Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Vauxhall is a common problem. And what you want to do about it varies according to a number of factors. In case you would like to know what you should do about it then please read on.
Right here are the most important factors to take into account whenever choosing whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Diesel have you put in the Vauxhall, considering that the fuel capacity of the Vauxhall Corsa is probably about 44 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Diesel, something like 2.2 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Corsa will generally not be a major problem. Experience has shown us that an amount under 2.2 litres (which is almost 5% of the whole fuel tank) is frequently capable of being completely diluted by entirely filling the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It is very rare to come across an automobile having issues because of lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Be aware that it is very rare - in no way impossible to encounter. You can get some vehicles that don't stand any amount of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 2.2 and 4.4 litres of Diesel in the Vauxhall (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our expertise has shown that as many motorists get away with it as those people who break down. When figuring out whether or not to risk it and simply fill it up consider that it is very much like betting your car on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything over 4.4 litres of Diesel in your Petrol Corsa must straight away be removed seeing that your probability of succeeding with this quantity of contamination is undoubtedly below one in fifty - seriously big odds.
  2. Put Diesel in a Petrol Vauxhall and drove it: Have you noted any performance difficulties after putting the incorrect fuel in your Corsa? If you have, have it removed irrespective of the volume of Diesel or even the contamination ratio. Still running a car that is beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination will probably just end up in progressively more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Are you interested in assurance?
In that case get it emptied. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some extent of threat resulting from running a Petrol motor on Petrol contaminated with Diesel. Likely consequences of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and in the event that you detect any of them cease driving and have it drained right away.

Don't simply get any jack-of-all-trades to try to fix your car. We are Vauxhall experts and possess the certification and expertise necessary to make certain you are back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.

Will driving a Petrol car on Diesel cause damage to it?

Answer

It can. However, if the problem is caught and remedied quickly the risks will be minimal. Of the 1,500 vehicles we attend every month, less than 0.5% have suffered and substantial damage requiring parts replacement.

How much Diesel can I get away with in a Petrol car?

I know about petrol in diesel, but what about Super Unleaded?

Answer

Putting Super Unleaded, or Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate Unleaded, etc, will have the exact same effect as putting regular unleaded petrol in your diesel car and will need to be drained out and flushed.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
