Volkswagen Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Diesel in a Petrol Volkswagen is a regularly occurring mistake. And what you want to do about it depends on various things. If you would like to know what you must do about it then keep on reading.
Listed here the key variables to be aware of when deciding whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. What level of Diesel did you put in to the Volkswagen, taking into account that the fuel capacity of the Volkswagen Touareg V6 is most likely roughly 100 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, as little as 5 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Touareg V6 will in most cases not necessarily be a huge problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 5 litres (which is 5% of the overall fuel tank) is oftentimes capable of being sufficiently diluted through completely topping the tank with Petrol.
It is pretty unusual to come across a vehicle having difficulties due to under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Please remember it's uncommon - certainly not impossible to find. There are some cars that don't endure any level of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 5 and 10 litres of Diesel in the Volkswagen (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our working experience has proven that as many people get away with it as all those who don't. Any time you're trying to decide whether to risk it and basically top it up consider that it is just like gambling all of it on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 10 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Touareg V6 ought to straightaway be drained as your probability of getting away with that quantity of contamination is very likely below one in 50 - genuinely big odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Volkswagen and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance problems as a result of putting the wrong fuel in your Touareg V6? In that case, get it emptied irrespective of the volume of Diesel or the contamination ratio. Continually driving a vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of wrong fuel contamination will only result in increasing amounts of damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Do you want security?
Simply get it removed. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some degree of risk associated with operating a Petrol vehicle on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely results of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include things like the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, etc. These are several of the most common Diesel in Petrol warning signs, and should you detect any of them then stop and get it removed immediately.
