Audi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Audi is a fairly typical mistake to make. And what you want to do about it hinges on a number of factors. If perhaps you would like to find out what you have to do to sort it out then keep reading.
Listed below are the main variables to consider whenever deciding whether or not to have it drained:

  1. How much Petrol did you put in the Audi, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your Audi A4 TDI is probably around 70 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, less than 3.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel A4 TDI will usually not really be a huge problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 3.5 litres (5% of the fuel tank volume) is in many instances capable of being sufficiently diluted through thoroughly filling the tank with the right fuel.
It is pretty uncommon to find a car or truck suffering from issues with lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is rare - certainly not impossible to find. You will discover a few cars that won't endure any degree of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 3.5 and 7 litres of Petrol in the Audi (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our experience demonstrates that as many people get away with it as those who break down. Whenever you are deciding on whether to risk it and just fill it up remember that it is exactly like gambling your car on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 7 litres of Petrol in your Diesel A4 TDI really should right away be drained because your likelihood of succeeding with this quantity of contamination is probably below one in 50 - extremely big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Audi and drove it: Have you noticed any performance concerns as a result of putting the bad fuel in the A4 TDI? If you have, get it drained irrespective of the volume of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continually driving a vehicle that is already starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination can definitely result in more damage affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Are you interested in assurance?
Then get it emptied. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is invariably some extent of risk linked with operating a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Probable implications of driving on the wrong fuel can include the motor not starting, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and if you detect any of them then stop driving and get it drained right away.
