Ford Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Ford is a very common mistake to make. And what you should do about it depends upon a number of factors. If perhaps you would like to find out what you should do to sort it out then read on.
These are the most crucial variables to to consider whenever deciding whether or not to get it drained:

  1. How much Petrol have you put in to the Ford, taking into account that the fuel capacity of the Ford Galaxy TDCi is usually about 70 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Petrol, less than 3.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Galaxy TDCi will typically not necessarily be a big problem. Experience has shown us that quantities under 3.5 litres (close to 5% of the entire fuel tank capacity) is usually able to be completely diluted through wholly topping up the tank with the correct fuel.
It is very rare to come across an automobile going through problems with less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it's infrequent - not impossible to encounter. You will discover a few vehicles that won't endure any amount of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 3.5 and 7 litres of Petrol in the Ford (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 scenario. Our expertise has proven that as many people get away with it as all those who break down. Any time you're deciding upon whether to chance it and simply fill it up remember that it is much like gambling it all on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 7 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Galaxy TDCi must straight away be drained as your probability of getting away with that amount of contamination is in all likelihood less than one in 50 - genuinely huge odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Ford and drove it: Have you seen any kind of performance troubles after putting the incorrect fuel in the Galaxy TDCi? If that's the case, have it removed regardless of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continually driving a vehicle that is now starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination can typically end up in more damage being done to the fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
Then get it drained. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is always a certain level of risk caused by running a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Possible results of driving on the incorrect fuel normally include the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most typical Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and should you detect any of them then stop and get it removed as soon as possible.
