Ford Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Ford is a regular mistake. And exactly what you have to do about it varies according to an assortment of factors. In case you would like to know what you must do about this then continue reading.
These are the key variables to take into consideration whenever making a decision whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol did you put in to the Ford, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Ford Mondeo TDCi is in most cases about 70 litres?
    1. A small amount of Petrol, less than 3.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Mondeo TDCi will quite often not necessarily be a significant problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities under 3.5 litres (approximately 5% of the fuel tank volume) is sometimes capable of being adequately diluted by means of wholly topping up the tank with Diesel.
It is rather rare to come across a car or truck going through issues due to under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Please remember it is infrequently found - in no way impossible to find. There are some vehicles that won't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. In between 3.5 and 7 litres of Petrol in the Ford (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our working experience has shown that as many drivers get away with this as those people who don't. When you are deciding on whether or not to risk it and simply fill it up consider that it is very much like gambling your car on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything more than 7 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Mondeo TDCi really should straight away be drained out as your likelihood of succeeding with that quantity of contamination is almost certainly lower than one in fifty - extremely big odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Ford and drove it: Have you seen any kind of performance difficulties ever since putting the bad fuel in the Mondeo TDCi? If so, get it removed no matter the amount of Petrol or the contamination ratio. Continually running a vehicle that is currently beginning to suffer from the effects of fuel contamination will likely bring about more harm being done to your fuel system.
  3. Would you like assurance?
Then get it emptied. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is always a certain level of threat resulting from driving a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Probable consequences of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel normally include the motor refusing to start, running unevenly, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, and the like. These are a few of the most common Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and if you notice any of them stop and get it removed asap.
