Hyundai Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Hyundai is a regularly occurring error. And what you have to do about it depends upon various things. Assuming you would like to know what it is advisable to do about it then continue reading.
These are the most crucial factors to consider when deciding whether or not to have a fuel drain:

  1. How much Petrol did you put into the Hyundai, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of your Hyundai Terracan CRDi is most likely around 75 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, something like 3.75 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Terracan CRDi will in most situations not be a major problem. Experience has taught us that quantities under 3.75 litres (which is about 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is sometimes able to be adequately diluted by completely filling up the tank with Diesel.
It is rather unusual to find a car experiencing problems with below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it's rare - not impossible to encounter. There are actually a number of automobiles that don't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.75 and 7.5 litres of Petrol in the Hyundai (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has confirmed that as many motorists get away with it as those people who don't. Any time you're deciding whether to risk it and basically fill it up recognise that it is the same thing as gambling all of it on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything over 7.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Terracan CRDi ought to immediately be drained seeing that your likelihood of getting away with this quantity of contamination is very likely lower than one in fifty - truly huge odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Hyundai and drove it: Have you noticed any performance issues as a result of putting the wrong fuel in the Terracan CRDi? If that's the case, get it drained no matter the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive running a vehicle that is currently beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination can typically end up in more and more damage being done to your fuel system.
  3. Would you like security?
Then get it drained. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is invariably a certain level of risk resulting from operating a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Possible outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel normally include the engine not starting, running lumpy, reduced power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the most common Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and in the event that you recognise any of them stop driving and have it removed right away.
