Hyundai Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Hyundai is a fairly typical problem. And exactly what you should do about it is determined by several different factors. In case you want to know what it is best to do about it then please read on.
Listed below are the key factors to take into consideration when deciding on whether or not to have it drained:

  1. What amount of Petrol did you put in the Hyundai, taking into consideration that the fuel tank capacity of the Hyundai Tucson CRDi is in most cases approximately 58 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Petrol, something like 2.9 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Tucson CRDi will normally not really be a major problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities under 2.9 litres (about 5% of the whole fuel tank volume) is sometimes able to be completely diluted by means of completely topping the tank with the right fuel.
It is relatively rare to come across a vehicle having problems with under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Please remember it's uncommon - certainly not impossible to find. You can get a few automobiles that don't stand any level of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 2.9 and 5.8 litres of Petrol in the Hyundai (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has proven that as many people get away with it as those who don't. Whenever deciding whether or not to chance it and just simply fill it up recognise that it is just like wagering everything on black - you've got a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 5.8 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Tucson CRDi must immediately be removed since your probability of driving with this amount of contamination is very likely less than one in fifty - definitely big odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Hyundai and drove it: Have you seen any performance concerns ever since putting the wrong fuel in your Tucson CRDi? If that's the case, have it drained no matter the volume of Petrol or the contamination ratio. Continually running a vehicle that is now beginning to suffer the consequences of fuel contamination can definitely end up in increasing amounts of damage being done to your fuel system.
  3. Are you interested in reassurance?
Then get it emptied. Regardless of contamination ratio, there is always a certain level of risk affiliated with driving a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Likely implications of driving a car on the wrong fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are some of the commonest Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and should you recognise any of them cease driving and have it removed right now.

Do not simply get any untrained so-and-so to try to fix your car. We are Hyundai experts and have got the credentials and experience required to ensure you get back on the road with a minimum of hassle or worry.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
