Kia Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Kia is a fairly typical mistake. And exactly what you want to do about it will depend on a variety of things. If you want to find out what it is best to do to sort it out then keep on reading.
Listed below are the most important factors to consider whenever determining whether to have a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Petrol have you put in the Kia, considering that the fuel tank capacity of your Kia Soul CRDi is usually roughly 48 litres?
    1. A small amount of Petrol, as little as 2.4 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Soul CRDi will usually not be a significant problem. Experience has proven to us that anything under 2.4 litres (which is almost 5% of the whole fuel tank) is often capable of being sufficiently diluted through thoroughly topping up the tank with Diesel.
It is quite uncommon to come across a car or truck having problems because of under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it's infrequently found - not impossible to encounter. You will discover a few cars that will not endure any quantity of contamination in the slightest.
    2. In between 2.4 and 4.8 litres of Petrol in the Kia (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has shown that as many motorists get away with it as all those who break down. Whenever figuring out whether to risk it and just simply fill it up remember that it is much like wagering everything on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything above 4.8 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Soul CRDi really should straight away be drained out since your likelihood of succeeding with that quantity of contamination is almost certainly less than one in fifty - definitely long odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Kia and drove it: Have you spotted any performance problems after putting the bad fuel in the Soul CRDi? If you have, get it emptied regardless of the amount of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Proceeding to run driving a vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will probably only bring about even more damage affecting the fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for assurance?
Then get it removed. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably some amount of danger associated with running a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely outcomes of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are some of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel signs and symptoms, and if you recognise any of them stop and have it drained right away.

Avoid getting any unqualified so-and-so to try to drain your vehicle. We are Kia experts and have got the certification and knowledge needed to make certain that you get back on the road with little hassle or trouble.
