Mazda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mazda is a fairly typical mistake to make. And its solution depends upon a variety of things. If you want to know what to do about this then please read on.
Let us discuss the key factors to take into account when making a decision whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. How much Petrol did you put in to the Mazda, considering that the fuel capacity of your Mazda 5 MZ-CD is probably around 60 litres?
    1. A small amount of Petrol, less than 3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 5 MZ-CD will usually not necessarily be a massive problem. Experience has shown us that an amount under 3 litres (which is almost 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is in many instances able to be sufficiently diluted by entirely filling up the remainder of the tank with Diesel.
It's very uncommon to encounter a car or truck suffering from issues because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Remember that it is infrequent - definitely not impossible to encounter. There are actually a few motor vehicles that will not endure any level of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 3 and 6 litres of Petrol in the Mazda (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has revealed that as many drivers get away with it as those people who break down. When trying to decide whether to chance it and just simply top it up remember that it is very much like wagering all of it on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 6 litres of Petrol in your Diesel 5 MZ-CD ought to as soon as possible be removed seeing that your probability of driving with that quantity of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in fifty - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mazda and drove it: Have you seen any kind of performance concerns after putting the bad fuel in the 5 MZ-CD? If that's the case, get it emptied irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or even the contamination percentage. Still driving a vehicle that is already beginning to suffer the effect of fuel contamination will probably only result in even more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
You should get it drained. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of danger associated with operating a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Possible consequences of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include things like the motor refusing to start, running unevenly, loss in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or bunged injectors, etc. These are a few of the commonest Petrol in Diesel signs and symptoms, and should you detect any of them then stop and get it removed immediately.
