Mazda Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mazda is a common problem. And its remedy varies according to a few factors. Assuming you want to find out what you need to do to fix it then read on.
Here are the key variables to consider whenever deciding whether to get a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol have you put in the Mazda, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Mazda 626 D is in most cases roughly 60 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, as little as 3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 626 D will generally not be a massive problem. Experience has taught us that an amount less than 3 litres (5% of the total fuel tank) is frequently capable of being adequately diluted by means of completely filling up the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It is quite rare to come across a vehicle going through issues because of less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Remember that it is very rare - not impossible to encounter. There are actually a few motor vehicles that don't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. In between 3 and 6 litres of Petrol in the Mazda (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our working experience has demonstrated that as many drivers get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever you are trying to decide whether to risk it and simply top it up bear in mind that it is just like betting all of it on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 6 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 626 D must immediately be removed since your probability of driving with this quantity of contamination is in all likelihood lower than one in fifty - really long odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mazda and drove it: Have you seen any performance issues as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the 626 D? If that's the case, get it drained irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continually running a motor vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of fuel contamination can typically be responsible for progressively more damage affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
In that case get it emptied. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some extent of threat affiliated with driving a Diesel engine on Diesel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel can include the engine not starting, running unevenly, loss of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, etc. These are a few of the most common Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and in the event that you recognise any of them stop and have it removed as soon as possible.
