Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a common error. And its remedy depends upon several different factors. If you would like to know what you have to do to fix it then keep reading.
Listed here are the main variables to be aware of when choosing whether or not to have it drained:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol did you put in to the Mercedes, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of the Mercedes E220 CDI is usually about 70 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Petrol, less than 3.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel E220 CDI will in most situations not necessarily be a significant problem. Experience has shown us that quantities under 3.5 litres (which is 5% of the total fuel tank capacity) is usually able to be sufficiently diluted by completely topping the remainder of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It is quite unusual to come across a car or truck going through issues with under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Do not forget that it is very uncommon - in no way impossible to encounter. You will discover a number of cars that don't endure any degree of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.5 and 7 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our expertise has shown us that as many drivers get away with this as all those who don't. Any time you're deciding on whether or not to risk it and simply top it up bear in mind that it is exactly like wagering all of it on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything more than 7 litres of Petrol in your Diesel E220 CDI should promptly be removed as your probability of driving with this quantity of contamination is certainly below one in 50 - truly big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you seen any performance difficulties since putting the wrong fuel in your E220 CDI? If so, get it removed no matter the volume of Petrol or the contamination ratio. Still running a car that is currently beginning to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will probably likely end up in more damage affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Do you need security?
Simply get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is always a certain level of risk affiliated with operating a Diesel engine on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Probable final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel normally include the engine not starting, running unevenly, decrease in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the commonest Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop driving and get it drained asap.
