Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a very common error. And exactly what you need to do about it varies according to various things. If you would like to know what to do about this then keep on reading.
Let us discuss the key variables to consider whenever making a decision whether to get the car drained:

  1. What amount of Petrol have you put into the Mercedes, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes E300 CDI is in most cases roughly 80 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Petrol, something like 4 litres of Petrol in a Diesel E300 CDI will more often than not not be a big problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that an amount less than 4 litres (almost 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is oftentimes able to be sufficiently diluted by means of totally topping the remainder of the tank with the right fuel.
It is relatively unusual to encounter a motor vehicle experiencing problems because of less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it's uncommon - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are a few automobiles that will not endure any amount of fuel contamination at all.
    2. Anywhere between 4 and 8 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our experience has shown us that as many drivers get away with it as those people who break down. When you are figuring out whether or not to chance it and basically fill it up consider that it is just like betting your car on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything over 8 litres of Petrol in your Diesel E300 CDI should immediately be drained out seeing as your likelihood of succeeding with that level of contamination is probably below one in 50 - definitely huge odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance issues ever since putting the bad fuel in your E300 CDI? If you have, have it drained regardless of the volume of Petrol or even the contamination ratio. Still running a car that is now beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination can typically end up in more and more harm being caused to the fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like reassurance?
Simply get it emptied. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is inevitably some amount of risk resulting from running a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Likely results of driving on the incorrect fuel normally include the motor not starting, running lumpy, decrease in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or bunged injectors, and so on. These are some of the commonest Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and in the event that you detect any of them then stop and get it removed as soon as possible.
