Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a usual problem. And its solution is based on a variety of factors. If you would like to know what you must do about it then keep reading.
Listed here the most important factors to to consider when deciding whether or not to get your car drained:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol did you put in the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Mercedes E320 CDI is usually about 65 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Petrol, less than 3.25 litres of Petrol in a Diesel E320 CDI will quite often not necessarily be a major problem. Experience has taught us that anything less than 3.25 litres (which is approximately 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is quite often capable of being sufficiently diluted through totally topping up the remainder of the tank with Diesel.
It is rather unusual to come across an automobile going through problems because of under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind it's unusual - certainly not impossible to find. You can get some motor vehicles that don't stand any quantity of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.25 and 6.5 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has confirmed that as many people get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever figuring out whether or not to chance it and just simply top it up remember that it is the same thing as betting it all on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 6.5 litres of Petrol in your Diesel E320 CDI should straightaway be removed since your likelihood of driving with that level of contamination is certainly lower than one in fifty - seriously long odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you spotted any performance concerns ever since putting the bad fuel in your E320 CDI? In that case, have it removed regardless of the volume of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Proceeding to drive running a motor vehicle that is starting to suffer from the effects of fuel contamination will likely be responsible for increasing amounts of damage being done to your fuel system components.
  3. Do you want reassurance?
Simply get it drained. Whatever the contamination ratio, there is invariably some degree of threat connected to driving a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Likely final outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel include the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, losing power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the most common Petrol in Diesel signs and symptoms, and should you detect any of them then cease driving and get it drained right away.
