Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a common mistake to make. And its remedy will depend on several factors. If perhaps you want to know what you ought to do about it then read on.
Right here are the main factors to be aware of when determining whether or not to have the car drained:

  1. How much Petrol did you put into the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of the Mercedes R320 CDI is usually about 80 litres?
    1. A tiny amount of Petrol, something like 4 litres of Petrol in a Diesel R320 CDI will usually not be a major problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities less than 4 litres (approximately 5% of the fuel tank volume) is in many instances able to be sufficiently diluted by means of wholly filling up the rest of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's extremely rare to come across a car going through issues due to below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it is uncommon - in no way impossible to find. There are actually certain automobiles that won't stand any degree of contamination at all.
    2. Somewhere between 4 and 8 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 scenario. Our expertise has shown us that as many motorists get away with this as those who don't. Any time you're deciding on whether or not to chance it and simply top it up consider that it is very much like betting all of it on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 8 litres of Petrol in your Diesel R320 CDI should straight away be drained out as your probability of driving with that level of contamination is in all likelihood below one in fifty - definitely long odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you seen any performance problems as a result of putting the wrong fuel in the R320 CDI? If you have, get it emptied no matter the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive driving a car that is already starting to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will probably likely bring about progressively more harm being caused to your fuel system.
  3. Would you like security?
In that case get it removed. No matter the contamination ratio, there is always a certain level of threat linked with operating a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Likely implications of driving on the wrong fuel normally include the motor not starting, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or blocked injectors, etc. These are a few of the most typical Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop driving and have it removed asap.
