Mercedes Fuel Drain

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a well-known error. And its remedy depends upon several things. If you want to find out what you should do about it then read on.
Listed here are the key factors to take into consideration when deciding on whether to have the car drained:

  1. What amount of Petrol have you put into the Mercedes, keeping in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Mercedes S250 CDI is usually roughly 83 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Petrol, something like 4.15 litres of Petrol in a Diesel S250 CDI will usually not be a major problem. Experience has taught us that quantities under 4.15 litres (about 5% of the fuel tank) is frequently capable of being sufficiently diluted by completely filling up the rest of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's pretty uncommon to come across a vehicle going through difficulties because of less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is infrequent - in no way impossible to find. There are certain cars that don't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 4.15 and 8.3 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our working experience has confirmed that as many motorists get away with this as all those who don't. Whenever figuring out whether to risk it and simply top it up bear in mind that it is the same thing as wagering all of it on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything over 8.3 litres of Petrol in your Diesel S250 CDI should really as soon as possible be drained out since your probability of getting away with this level of contamination is probably lower than one in fifty - definitely big odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you noted any kind of performance difficulties ever since putting the incorrect fuel in your S250 CDI? In that case, get it drained no matter the quantity of Petrol or even the contamination ratio. Still running a vehicle that is now starting to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will probably just be responsible for progressively more damage being done to the fuel system.
  3. Are you interested in reassurance?
In that case get it removed. Whatever the contamination percentage, there is invariably some extent of threat connected with running a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Possible implications of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the motor not starting, running lumpy, loss of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or bunged injectors, and the like. These are several of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and should you recognise any of them cease driving and have it drained right now.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."
