Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a regularly occurring mistake to make. And exactly what you have to do about it is determined by several factors. If you would like to know what you have to do to fix it then read on.
Listed below are the main variables to to consider whenever deciding on whether to get a fuel drain:

  1. What level of Petrol have you put in to the Mercedes, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Mercedes S350 CDI is in most cases approximately 90 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, less than 4.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel S350 CDI will quite often not be a significant problem. Experience has taught us that anything less than 4.5 litres (which is almost 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is very often capable of being adequately diluted simply by totally filling up the rest of the tank with Diesel.
It is relatively uncommon to encounter an automobile going through difficulties due to below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is rare - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are actually a few motor vehicles that don't endure any amount of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 4.5 and 9 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our practical experience has shown us that as many motorists get away with it as all those who don't. Any time you're deciding upon whether to chance it and just simply fill it up consider that it is very much like wagering it all on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 9 litres of Petrol in your Diesel S350 CDI really should right away be removed since your likelihood of driving with this amount of contamination is undoubtedly less than one in fifty - seriously huge odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you noticed any performance difficulties as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the S350 CDI? If that's the case, have it drained irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or even the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive driving a car that is currently beginning to suffer from the effect of wrong fuel contamination can likely end up in increasing amounts of damage affecting the fuel system.
  3. Do you need peace of mind?
In that case get it removed. No matter the contamination ratio, there is always some amount of risk associated with operating a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Likely implications of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the motor not starting, running unevenly, lack of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel symptoms, and if you recognise any of them then stop and get it drained immediately.
